The only requirement for this course is an interest in the subject, and all levels of experience are welcome.

Learn some essential aspects of music journalism on this specialist course, taught by a professional music journalist.

This online course will feature a variety of interactive learning methods including discussions, Q&A sessions, group and paired work and other ways in which you can enjoy learning as a part of a group. As with all our programmes, this course includes individual reviews, offering you time with your personal tutor to reflect and set targets. At the beginning of the course, you will be given a reading list to enable you to further explore various topics should you wish to. The college also has an exciting programme of events, exhibitions, and competitions throughout the year. Your tutor will make you aware of these, and your participation is welcomed and encouraged.

There is no exam or formal assessment for this course. However, you will complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) which will outline the learning objectives for the course. You will also be invited to set your own goals. You will receive feedback against the achievement of these outcomes during the course from your tutor and in written form at the end of the course. There is no formal qualification attached to this course, but you can receive a Certificate of Completion from the college on request.

Once you have completed the course, you may choose to enrol on a further Journalism course or another subject such as Creative Writing. Advice and Guidance for all further study is available from the Curriculum Manager by request.
