Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to our learning community

Situated in the heart of London, we are a friendly adult college, offering a wide range of courses to suit everyone. Since 1854, our goal has been to help adults reach their learning potential with excellent teaching and support, provided by our highly knowledgeable and professional tutors.

As we continue to navigate challenging times, we remain committed to supporting adult learners to thrive. Whether that be to improve job prospects, retrain in another sector, invest in a new creative interest, or simply improve your health and wellbeing, we have an affordable course for you.

This year we continue to offer support with getting into work with our one-to-one job coaching and expanding our links with local employers, who regularly come to our job fairs and offer advice to our learners.

We are also focusing on supporting adults to break down the barriers surrounding maths anxiety, with the government backed ‘Multiply’ scheme. We provide free maths workshops both in the College and the community to help adults gain confidence in their mathematic skills for everyday life.

The College has a thriving ESOL provision. Come for an assessment and we will get you on the right course to improve your English.

For those who have completed their level 2 qualification, or have relevant experience, you can progress to our level 3 courses, most of which are free. Courses range from Teaching Assistant Training, Certificate in IT Skills, and the AAT Certificate in Accounting and will start again in September 2023.

We have an ever expanding range of creative courses, from making clothes to painting portraits, joining a band or learning to throw a pot. Or why not try a creative writing course or learn the basics of journalism? Take a look and see what takes your fancy! Many new courses start in summer term 2023 – or join our summer school in July!

We take sustainability and climate change seriously. The College is working towards becoming carbon neutral and ensuring that everyone does their part to support our mission. As part of the college community, you too will be able to make a contribution to this goal!

With the current cost of living crisis, we are dedicated to making learning affordable. Many courses are discounted or free, and to help spread the cost we also offer a payment in instalments option. So no excuses, come join the WM College Community!
