This short painting course will introduce beginners to the basics of landscape drawing and painting techniques. You will begin exploring drawing skills including measuring, perspective, and drawing techniques. You will then move on to painting techniques, including experimenting with ink, collage and acrylic paint to develop wonderful, colourful paintings. You can work from the view from the window, images of the landscape, or bring an A4 picture to develop a personal projects of a special place.

This course will introduce you to the essentials of oil painting and support you in developing your technique. Topics covered will include how to organise your palette, control colour mixing and blending, and what mediums to use to alter the handling qualities of the paint. You will learn the terms used in oil painting techniques, such as glazing and impasto.
