WM College is a learner centred college which aims to provide enriching and enjoyable lifelong learning for all adults and so is very pleased that in this recent inspection Ofsted have recognised the strengths of the college provision.

The inspection report identified that Learners benefit from a broad choice of programmes that enable them to return to learning, and it commended the high quality of teaching and learning that is demonstrated across the college. It also commented on the high level of personal care and support provided by college staff that enables adults to be successful in their learning.

In particular Ofsted stated:

Governors, leaders, managers and staff retain the harmonious culture and ethos of WMC as a welcoming place to study. Managers and staff reflect closely the local community of learners and their diverse range of cultural backgrounds. Teachers and staff celebrate the cultural heritage of learners through a broad range of events. This enables learners to develop a good understanding of, and appreciation for, people of different faiths, sexual orientation, age, gender and ability. Learners of all ages and backgrounds enjoy sharing their learning experience.

We’re very pleased that Ofsted have recognised and commented upon our uniqueness and ethos and our role within Camden in this way. This is something that we all cherish and work hard to maintain within the current funding difficulties facing adult learning.
