This fun, hands-on course will introduce you to the art of Papermaking. Learn how to use recycled cotton pulp and other fibres and materials to form your own sheets of paper. Experiment with creating different shapes, layering with colour, adding inclusions and embellishments, watermarks and embossing. At the end of the course you will have a selection of your own handmade paper pieces.

Paper is an inexpensive sculptural material. Pliable and easily folded, pleated, cut and manipulated with simple tools. Three-dimensional shapes from simple to complex and can be useful for artists, architects, fashion designers and milliners. Learn some key basic techniques - hand folding, scoring and manipulation. The sessions will also cover tools and types of paper best suited for this art form. Please note we do not cover paper engineering for pop-up books.
