All WM College learners can receive guidance and support with job searching, completing application forms, improving CVs and receive tips about essential interview skills as well as advice regarding progression opportunities.
We have an Employability Coach and representative of the National Careers Service based at the main site at Crowndale Road, available Monday-Friday, who provide information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work.
We can support with advice on the different stages of a job hunt from getting back into work or a change of career direction and our advisors will help find the best route for you.
Our advisors will discuss the ways you search for jobs, voluntary work or apprenticeships and guide you through the process of making job applications. They can help you write, improve and update your CV, check applications and help improve your interview technique by offering tips and practice opportunities.
The team will offer advice on matching your skills to job opportunities and give you guidance on areas where you might need to improve or where further study may be beneficial to maximise your chances of successfully progressing into your chosen career.
To support you further, we have a noticeboard in the Learner Centre with current job and voluntary opportunities. You can also access our online jobs board for new on local jobs, volunteering opportunities, job related events and courses here.
If you would like advice about your next steps our team of advisors can help you consider your options for further study and help you look for courses and learning providers. If you are currently studying on a Level 3 diploma course at the College and are applying to university, we can offer you information and guidance on applying to university and can check your personal statement.
