This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers topics such as how to support the well-being of children, and child development.
No prior knowledge or work experience required. Written and spoken English at Entry 3 will be a minimum requirement.
This course is an introduction to working in schools, and will cover; how to keep children and young people heathy, safe and well, and how to communicate with children, young people and adults.
Teaching and Learning Methods
Teaching and learning methods will include, talk, discussion, group tasks, and practical work.Resources used within each lesson are available forlearnerson our online learning platform Google Classroom
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.

Additional Learning Support (ALS) is available for this course and is subject to an assessment with a member of our support staff. ALS may include one or more of the following: support in classes, out of class in small groups, workshops or 1:1 with a specialist tutor.
