Tom Schuller (Chair)

Tom is Chair of WMC Camden College Corporation. He has worked nationally and internationally in adult education. He was Head of the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation, OECD Paris, and has previously been a Professor of Lifelong Learning at London University’s Birkbeck College.

Douglas Beattie

Douglas is a serving Camden Councillor and nominated representative on the WMC Camden College London Board. An award winning journalist who has written for a range of major newspapers, websites and broadcasters, including working with BBC News as a broadcast journalist for many years.

Kate Bell (Vice-Chair)

Kate has a background in policy and research having worked for the national charity One-Parent Families and as a consultant for many other charities. She is a Vice Chair of WMC Camden College Corporation.

Barbara Byrne

Barbara has had experience as Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director of a London Mental Health Trust; a  senior finance professional, CCAB qualified, with over 20 years of experience in a variety of NHS sectors with a strong commitment to the values and ethos of NHS.

Layne Comarasawmy

Layne has been elected as a student governor and has studied harmonica, Drumkit and Percussion and Life Drawing at the College.

Jean Esnard

Jean is our elected Administrative Staff Governor. She is a Curriculum and Student Administrator.

Nigel Franklin

Nigel has been associated with the College for more than 25 years; his family association with WMC Camden College London stretching over three generations. He is a company director with a background and particular interest in ICT.

Helen Hammond

Helen has been been Principal of WMC Camden College London since December 2014. She brings to WMC Camden College London her many years’ experience of successful leadership within adult and community education across London: Southgate, Brent and, most recently Lewisham where she recreated and revitalised what had been a failing service.

Alexi Marmot

An architect, Professor at UCL, with a professional career helping organisations to shape their built assets to deliver corporate goals, founding director since 1990 of professional consultancy firm.

David Offenbach

David is a practising solicitor with a wide range of high-profile experience; he brings legal and financial expertise and is Chair of our Finance Committee.

Chris Percy

Chris lives in Camden and works as a strategy consultant for business and community organisations. He has experience of education sector governance and Employer Engagement initiatives and also contributes to academic journals with a research focus on labour market transitions and social change.

Abdul Quadir

Abdul is a retired qualified accountant and is very active in local Camden voluntary organizations. He is a very long-standing Camden Councillor and is currently Mayor of Camden.

Elizabeth Rai

Elizabeth is the elected teaching staff governor.  Elizabeth is in her fourth year at WMC Camden College London, teaching Functional Skills (English).

Halima Tuli

Halima is a student governor who lives locally. She is studying ESOL on four afternoons a week.

Paula Whittle

Paula has very extensive experience in FE, having previously been a Deputy Principal at WMC. She was Principal of a major London FE College before retirement, and is now Chair of Dyslexia UK.
