Daytime and Evening Film and Video Courses
This Level 2 certificated course is a two term programme during which you will learn different aspects of the Media world with a thorough grounding in Filmmaking. The programme will prepare you for further study in the subject or for employment in the industry. Through realistic, industry related projects you will create a range of digital film from first idea to finished product with a mixture of practical lessons and vocational projects that will give you the opportunity to develop your creative film making skills. Topics include video production and editing, media specific research, preparation for employment using social media for promotion, and media industries.
This Level 2 Certificated year long course will introduce you to the skills and knowledge needed to digitally produce a variety of creative media outcomes, using a range of software tools and learning processes for generating, developing and producing your ideas. All your final ideas will be interpreted and produced in sound. You will learn the critical thinking skills to become an effective programme maker alongside learning how to engage and utilise social media platforms to publish and promote your work beyond the scope of the course. By the end of the course you will have a clear sense of audience, product and promotion which will help shape your professional programme making skills.
In this hands-on course you will learn the art of storytelling through editing. Through the combination of lectures and hands on software practice, learners will gain knowledge of the work of an editor, post production workflow and various editing styles as well as media management and technical expertise used when taking a video projects from start to finish.
On this introductory course, you will learn some of the processes and techniques involved in making content for radio, this will include a radio feature, podcast and a formatted show. Find out how radio works in the UK, its role in the digital era and its future in the wider media. Learn how to edit using Adobe Addition, how to drive a radio desk, record interviews and to prepare for making content. You will design, record and edit your own projects to take away with you.
On this course you will gain knowledge of the exciting world of documentary film making. Through a series of illustrated lectures and discussions, as well as hands on video practice, you will be introduced to the style, form and structure of a constantly evolving visual story telling form that documents and captures aspects of reality
This 10 week course will introduce you to film/video production, from idea to final product. Learn how to create original video work through pre-production, production and post-production. The course will cover idea generation, production planning, shooting and editing for a short video project.
This 10 week course will introduce you to the essential elements and conventions of writing a short film screenplay including but not limited to character, structure, and tension. Through writing exercises and analysis of short films, the students will gain a set of tools for writing their own scripts: learning to write visually, working with character and conflict, and building narrative.
