Beginners Japanese pt1 (A1)

This is a lively introduction to the Japanese language and culture, including a gentle introduction to hiragana – one basic component of the Japanese writing system – and simple vocabulary so you can introduce and speak about yourself. This course is suitable for complete beginners with no knowledge of the language. It is based on the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) syllabus. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners Japanese pt2 (A1).

Beginners Japanese pt2 (A1)

This course continues to introduce the Japanese language and culture. You will further develop your vocabulary to hold simple conversations in everyday situations, and ask questions on a range of topics. You will also develop your recognition and practice of hiragana. The course is based on the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) syllabus. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners Japanese pt3 (A1).

Beginners Japanese pt3 (A1)

This course continues to introduce the Japanese language and culture. You will expand your vocabulary to hold more in-depth conversations on topics such as jobs, interests and food. You will also develop your recognition and practice of hiragana. The course is based on the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) syllabus.

Beginners Plus Japanese pt1 (A1+)

A class for improvers in the Japanese language and culture. You will acquire the ability to comprehend and produce simple statements and develop the communicative skills to deal with essential everyday situations, including making a request, making plans with someone, accept or reject someone’s offer, and ask for permission. Katakana, one of the writing systems, will be introduced. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners Plus Japanese pt2 (A1+).

Beginners Plus Japanese pt2 (A1+)

Suitable for improvers in the Japanese language, this lively communicative course will introduce some intermediate structures, while revising the fundamentals. You will acquire the language skills needed to deal with typical everyday situations, such as planning a trip, choosing a gift, booking a room in a hotel, asking for advice, and searching for a lost item. Approximately 50 kanji will be introduced. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners Plus Japanese pt3 (A1+).

Beginners Plus Japanese pt3 (A1+)

Suitable for improvers in the Japanese language, this lively communicative course will continue to introduce some intermediate structures, while revising the fundamentals. You will acquire the language skills needed to deal with typical everyday situations, such as talking about schedules, expressing one’s feelings, and asking for suggestions to solve problems. Approximately 70 kanji will be introduced.
