WM College Expands Online Learning & IT Equipment Loaning

At WM College we are passionate about ensuring adults from all backgrounds have access to education, whether that’s to up-skill and improve job prospects, retrain in another sector or simply invest in a hobby that you enjoy. To ensure as many people as possible can access learning during these restrictive times we have implemented several new approaches and initiatives.

We launched our FREE Get Into Work programme which includes employability coaching, courses and workshops and online courses in CV Writing, Interview Preparations and Career Network Building, to support adults worried about job loss or seeking new employment.

We have expanded our online learning offer to include Languages, Computing & Digital Skills, Creative Arts, Health & Well-being, Creative Writing, Journalism, History & Culture and Performing Arts.

We are also aware of the ‘digital divide’ between those able to access the equipment required for online learning and those who can’t. With home schooling becoming the norm, many adults are forgoing the household digital devices for their children’s learning and some households simply don’t have the means to access high speed internet or a computer. We have invested in a number of Chromebook computers and data dongles to boost internet access for our students to loan*.

How we can help
If you are currently studying a course with us and are being held back by the lack of equipment or internet access please talk to your tutor. If you would like to enrol on an online course but are worried you don’t have a computer or access to the internet, please contact our Learner Services team via the live chat function, e-mail or phone and they will be happy to help you.

* Please note that the loan of equipment is strictly at the discretion of the College and is mainly for those on a qualification course.

If you’re not very confident with online technologies and feel you need some support to access online learning facilities, our dedicated tutors and support teams are on hand every step of the way.

Take a look at our online courses and keep learning.
