WM College Awarded Mayor of London’s Skills for Londoners Capital Fund

WM College is delighted to announce that it has secured funding from the latest round of the Mayor of London’s Skills for Londoners Capital Fund Round 3. This prestigious grant is part of a £10 million investment aimed at enhancing adult education facilities across London, focusing on key growth sectors such as creative, digital, green, hospitality, health, and social care.

With this funding, WM College will establish an innovative Digital Design Bureau. This cutting-edge facility will feature state-of-the-art equipment, including a Mac Suite, 3D printers, digital drawing tools, and laser cutters. The Digital Design Bureau will provide our Creative Digital Media and Creative Art learners with the opportunity to develop high-quality skills essential for employment in the creative industries.

Part of our project’s ambition is to deliver industry projects with our learners working under the guidance of expert tutors to engage in real-world design projects with local employers and businesses. This will to provide practical solutions to industry challenges whilst our learners gain valuable experience of the world of work.

Another objective of the project is involving students, local employers and businesses in community initiatives, such as public art installations or sustainable design projects that benefit the whole community.

The creation of the Digital Design Bureau underscores WM College’s commitment to delivering top-tier education and training, ensuring our students are well-prepared to meet the demands of London’s thriving creative sector. We look forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on our learners and the wider community.
