Top GCSE Results at WM College.

There were tears of joy at WM College this week as learners arrived to collect their GCSE results.

The college recorded an incredible 100% pass rate in GCSE English and an equally impressive 78% in GCSE Maths this year.

The learners, many of whom were studying this level for the first time as adults scored some of the highest marks possible. A record number of learners were awarded a grade 8, or 9 (32% in English and 20% in Maths), and 11% of all learners got the top marks (grade 9) in Maths which is an incredible achievement for this cohort of learners.

Star student Stacey Pornsiri achieved the highest grades possible, awarded grade 9s in both English and Maths. Her tutor helped her secure a work placement at a secondary school in Camden – she is now progressing to study for her PGCE to become a teacher.

Sarmin achieved an outstanding grade 8 in her English. She was very emotional receiving her results this week, saying she had waited 16 years to achieve this. She said: “If I can do it, anyone can”.

Angela also achieved a grade 8 in Maths and was full of praise for her teacher David as she expressed her tearful joy when collecting her results this week.

Congratulations to all our learners and their dedicated teachers who worked so hard for this well-deserved success.

If you are inspired by their success and need your GCSE English and Maths to progress on to higher level study or to join a profession – enrol for September. Courses are free to most learners.
