We are all shocked and saddened by the recent events in Turkey and Syria caused by the catastrophic earthquake in that region and the ongoing devastation that is unravelling. I am aware that some staff and learners at WM College are directly affected and I want to extend my deepest sympathy with what they must be going through.
Our safeguarding team are on hand to support and signpost anyone (staff and learners) who are affected by this disaster. More information about organisations and their helplines can be found on our safeguarding page.
For those looking to support, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), of which British Red Cross is a member, has launched an appeal to support with search and rescue, providing essential aid and supporting the wounded. More information on how to donate can be found here. The UK Government also has some useful information about how to donate to the cause and ensure the charities are legitimate.
