WMC – The Camden College

 

WMC- The Camden College is the oldest surviving adult education institute in Europe and was founded in 1854. Our mission is to provide diverse, enriching and enjoyable lifelong learning, including skills for work, in a supportive environment for adults in Camden and the local area.

We are looking for a Salaried Technician to join our Art and Design team to support the Art Foundation course and Craft areas.

The right candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Arts and will assist teaching staff by providing safe and well equipped studios for learners. You will provide technical support by the preparation and maintenance of tools and equipment and be responsible for ordering and tracking materials. The position forms a central part of the work of the department and you will work closely with the curriculum manager to support the success and positive experience of the learners.

Working days are flexible.

This job role will be based at our main site in Camden, two minutes’ walk from Mornington Crescent and 10 minutes from Camden Town.

Sessional Teacher- Get Into Learning (GIL)

£28.78 Per hour

 

We are currently looking to expand our pool of sessional teachers to help us deliver our “Get Into Learning” project.  This project is delivered out in the community and seeks to engage residents into learning through short, easily accessible learning opportunities that give learners the confidence and motivation to progress onto more sustained learning. These courses are often practical and creative in nature.

We are looking for tutors with experience in delivering craft-based learning at an introductory level.  Examples of courses we offer are card-making, candle-decoration, flower-arranging, henna, aromatherapy, crochet, jewellery making, sewing, glass-painting, beauty on a budget, cake decorating etc. However, we are always looking for new ideas for courses, so if you can teach a practical skill that is not covered by the examples above, we would still be interested in hearing from you.

Sessional Teacher- ESOL

£28.78 Per hour

 

Foundation Learning at WMC-The Camden College is a thriving and ambitious department, delivering an enriching and enjoyable lifelong learning to adults in Camden and the local area.

We are currently expanding our pool of sessional ESOL teachers for a range of teaching opportunities both on our main site, but also in community venues in Camden and nearby boroughs.

We are seeking fully qualified ESOL teachers (PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification plus ESOL Subject Specialism), with a proven track record of successfully teaching ESOL to adults from pre-entry levels to Level 2.

A willingness to travel to other locations or boroughs is essential as is the ability to build strong relations with community partners and work effectively with minimal supervision.

We are seeking a Curriculum Manager to manage the English and Maths provision at WMC – The Camden College. At WMC we have a thriving and ambitious English and Maths department which delivers essential foundation learning to Camden residents. We currently have a vacancy for a manager with exceptional management skills, experience leading English and maths provision including GCSE, and who is a fully qualified (PGCE or equivalent plus Numeracy or Literacy Subject Specialism) and experienced teacher of English or Maths to Adult learners.
