Curriculum Manager- Performing Arts

0.6FTE- 21 Hours per week

18 Months Fixed Term

£33,116 – £37,258 Pro rata per annum

 

At WMC we have a long-standing programme of music and drama courses that attract local people and are accessible to learners at all levels. We are currently looking for a Curriculum Manager with specialist knowledge, particularly in music, to lead, innovate and develop this provision, by introducing new courses, attracting new learners, liaising with community organisations and raising the visibility of the department offer.

In addition to experience in management and partnership working, the successful candidate will have experience of teaching music to adults, have an adult teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), and a degree in music or equivalent.

Curriculum Manager- Offsite Provision

35 Hours a week

At WMC we deliver a highly successful programme of accredited and non-accredited courses in community venues in the local area. We currently have a vacancy for a Curriculum Manager to lead and develop our offsite community-based provision.

The outreach programme will deliver ESOL, employability courses, introductory vocational courses as well as a range of first-step courses under our Get Into Learning offer (short non-accredited courses, often practical and creative in nature, which seek to engage adults into learning and give them the confidence and motivation to progress onto more sustained learning).

Curriculum Manager- ESOL

At WMC we have a thriving and ambitious ESOL department, which delivers ESOL to adult learners from pre-entry to Level 2.  We are currently seeking a Curriculum Manager with exceptional management skills, the experience of leading ESOL provision, and a passion for delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

In addition to management experience, the successful candidate will have considerable successful experience of teaching ESOL to adults and will have an adult teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) plus an ESOL Subject Specialism.

Sessional Millinery Teacher

£29.06 per hour

Min. 3 hours per week

We are currently looking for an inspirational and creative individual who is passionate and experienced about teaching Millinery: Hat Making.

Applicants must have an exceptional experience to deliver a programme at beginner’s level to more advanced one, the ability to translate a 2D design into creative 3D outcomes and to deliver teaching, learning and assessment within this specialist area to the highest possible standard.

The right candidate will have the experience to deliver hat making across a variety of different hat styles and using a wide range of materials, from felt to straw, sinamay and woven as also a great experience for the development of patterns for both soft and structured hats.

Ultimately to provide other support, advice and guidance and assessment to ensure the best possible student experience.

Ideally, you will have experience of delivering courses to adults either in an Adult Education, FE, HE or workshop setting and hold a teaching qualification. The post involves working with young people and vulnerable adults and consequently is subject to a satisfactorily enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

Sessional Frame- Making Teacher

£29.06 per hour

We are looking for a Sessional Tutor to join our Art and Design team to teach our Frame Making course starting in June 2019.

The right candidate will have extensive knowledge of frame making as part of their main practice. Strong technical skills are required, and the ability to teach a range of processes using different tools and materials. The ability to deliver to a wide range of students at different levels is essential.

Applicants must be available to teach one class on a Wednesday evening for 3 terms a year.
