Sessional Ceramics Tutor

WMC- The Camden College

£29.06 per hour

3 hours a week

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic ceramics tutor who will be able to teach a range of ceramics techniques and approaches to adult learners who already have some experience of Ceramics. The course runs regularly on Tuesdays 14:00-17:00.

Ideally, you will have experience of delivering courses to adults either in an Adult Education, FE, HE or workshop setting and hold a teaching qualification. We are particularly interested in applicants who also have experience of delivering accredited courses, in light of future developments within the department.

Sessional Web Design and Adobe Tutor

Sessional Web Design and Adobe CC Teacher

£29.06 per hour

5-7 hours a week

We are currently looking for an hourly paid lecturer to join our team of digital design experts and to teach a range of exciting courses for Web Design with WordPress & Design with Adobe CC running every term in our digital suites. You will be teaching a range of basic and more advanced skills, how to use the Adobe CC software suite and WordPress as a tool to build websites and to create blogging content.

Where available, you would additionally be required to provide other support, advice and guidance and assessment to ensure the best possible student recruitment and experience. Ideally you will have experience of delivering courses to adults either in an Adult Education, FE, HE or workshop setting and hold a teaching qualification.

Sessional Millinery Tutor

Sessional Tutor – Millinery: Hat Making

Min. 3 hours per week

We are currently looking for an inspirational and creative individual who is passionate about Millinery and teaching. The ideal candidate will have experience of producing a variety of different hat styles, using a wide range of materials- from felt to straw sinamay and woven- as well as making patterns for both soft and structured hats.

Preferably, you will also have prior experience of teaching a range of abilities, from beginners to more advanced learners, supporting and inspiring them to produce both classic and innovative work of a high standard. Where available, you may be required to provide other support, advice and guidance to ensure the best possible student experience.

Curriculum Manager- ESOL

At WMC we have a thriving and ambitious ESOL department, which delivers ESOL to adult learners from pre-entry to Level 2.  We are currently seeking a Curriculum Manager with exceptional management skills, experience of leading ESOL provision, and a passion for delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

In addition to management experience, the successful candidate will have considerable successful experience of teaching ESOL to adults and will have an adult teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) plus an ESOL Subject Specialism.

Director of Learner Services

Are you passionate about giving adult learners the best possible experience when embarking on a learning journey, perhaps for the first time or after a long break from education? We have created a new Director of Learner Services post which will offer an experienced, ambitious and energetic manager the opportunity to lead, further develop and enhance all aspects of front of house customer service, and our WMC Plus provision which includes IAG and Careers support, Additional Learning Support, Learner Voice and cross college events including Open Days. Through managing the Marketing Officer, you will engage with promoting the college and reaching new learners.

We are dedicated to widening access to education for all, providing opportunities for lifelong learning and improving employment prospects for adult learners. We aim to meet the needs of all learners by providing outstanding service from initial enquiry through to enrolment and enriching time in college. We have around 6,000 part-time adult learners accessing our diverse portfolio of courses and support services from our sites based in Camden and Kentish Town.

We are looking for an individual with a proven background of outstanding leadership, demonstrable experience of improving the learner experience and quality standards and an ability to manage a wide provision of resources within a post 16 setting.

This role will involve working effectively with the Principal and Governors to ensure that the learner experience is at the heart of everything we do and staff have a good understanding of the College’s vision and what needs to be done to deliver this.

Learner Services Administrator

35 Hours per week

 £23,325- £25,412 Per Annum

WMC – The Camden College is currently looking to recruit an administrator with customer focus experience, which would preferably be within an education based information advice and guidance environment.

 

You will be the initial face of the College that all enquiries see; playing a vital role in the recruitment of learners to our courses.  You will accurately respond to and process course and pre course assessment queries and enrolments, providing advice and guidance to prospective learners; as well as supporting the College by participating in a range of recruitment events, both on and off site.

 

Applicants should be articulate and motivated, with excellent communication, IT and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload under time constraints.

As an adult education college, we are open in the evenings and on Saturday’s, please note the 35 hour week will include working evenings and some Saturday’s. The post involves working with young people and vulnerable adults and consequently is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

Community Tutor 1.0 FTE

35 Hours per week

£25,854-£32,317 per annum

At WMC we deliver a highly successful programme of accredited and non-accredited courses to adults in community venues in the local area.

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time salaried tutor to help us deliver our offsite programme of ESOL and employability courses, as well as a range of first-step courses under our Get Into Learning offer (short non-accredited courses, often practical and creative in nature, which seek to engage adults into learning and give them the confidence and motivation to progress onto more sustained learning).

The post holder would mainly support the Get into Learning provision but may also teach on other outreach courses with an ESOL and employability focus and as such may be required to teach ESOL courses contextualized to a vocational setting or ESOL with Employability, both within Camden and in neighbouring boroughs.

We are looking for a creative and versatile tutor, with ESOL teaching qualifications and experience, an ability to embed employability into their teaching and able to also deliver craft-based learning at an introductory level.  Examples of courses we offer under Get into Learning are card-making, candle-decoration, henna, aromatherapy, crochet, jewellery making, sewing, glass-painting, cake decorating etc.

WMC – the Camden College is the oldest surviving adult education institute in Europe. Our mission is to provide diverse, enriching and enjoyable lifelong learning, including skills for work, in a supportive environment for adults in Camden and the local area.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and inspiring tutor to join our Business and Accounting department. The successful candidate will be teaching on our curriculum planned for 2019-20, which includes a variety of AAT-accredited and non-accredited provision. Courses run in the daytime and evening, Monday to Saturday, and range from beginner level to Level 2.
