The Humane Selfie, ‘Life Gets Better Together’
Working Men’s College has been awarded funding of £30K to deliver an innovative new project which supports the inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LBGT) themes in adult learning.
The Humane Selfie, Life Gets Better Together project will run until June 2015 and will seek to address three key areas at the College: the incorporation of LGBT themes into the hairdressing curriculum, the positive promotion of LGBT lives among all staff and students, and delivery of a range of students centered and students led activities. The project has been funded by the Skills Development Agency through the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU)), which supports innovative and sustainable projects that help to meet the public sector Equality Duty (2010). Working Men’s College was one of 30 education providers to be granted funding.
A dedicated resource page has been created for this project that can be accessed here .
