The Working Men’s College’s Emily Pfeiffer Trust makes annual scholarship awards to learners from low income or disadvantaged backgrounds, or who have caring responsibilities, who want to return to or continue with their learning.

The awards are up to £1000, which can be used to assist with the costs of learning, including tuition fees, books and resources, travel, childcare and day to day living.

The scholarship is open to learners attending any of the following institutes of adult learning

  • City Lit
  • Mary Ward Education Centre
  • Morley College
  • Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College
  • Workers Education Association
  • WMC Camden College

 All applications will be considered on the basis of need, prioritising cases where a student would be unable to start a course or could be forced to leave their programme without this financial assistance. Successful applicants will be awarded a sum to assist with costs such as tuition fees, maintenance, travel, childcare of materials. The sum is variable according to your mode of study:

Part-time students – Awards £500

Full-time students – Award £1,000
