We’re delighted that the London School of Mosaic has joined WM College’s thriving Crafts Department. From February 2026, we’ll be offering their renowned classes right here. In this 5-week beginners’ course, you’ll work with expert tutors from this well-established school to create your own 14 x 14 cm mosaic piece, using the direct method. The course covers: Mosaic tools and techniques, materials and design adaptation and guidance to copy and adapt a design for your piece. These 4-day intensive courses are perfect for learners with previous mosaic experience who want to develop more advanced skills or complete an ongoing project. You’ll work with our expert tutor to create your own personal mosaic up to 30 x 30 cm. The consecutive teaching days provide the ideal opportunity to immerse yourself fully in your work, explore new approaches, and refine your technique. All basic materials are provided. In this 3-week course, you’ll work with expert tutors from this well-established school to create your own 20 x 20 cm mosaic piece using the direct method. The course covers Mosaic tools and techniques, materials and design adaptation and guidance to copy and adapt a design for your piece. Suitable for complete beginners and returning learners, with all materials provided. Lead tutor: Paula Ligo

Complete a mosaic project using the direct method on this beginner‑friendly, hands‑on course. You’ll be guided step by step through planning a design, cutting tiles and assembling your first mosaic piece, working with a range of coloured glass and ceramic tiles. The course builds confidence with tools and processes in a supportive environment. All materials are provided, and teaching takes place in our dedicated art studio with professional equipment and plenty of space to work comfortably. This course provides a strong foundation for progressing onto longer mosaic courses at WM College.

Make a traditional mosaic piece while deepening your skills on this course for learners with some experience. Through guided, practical work, you’ll be introduced to natural stone, marble and smalti, building confidence in cutting and fixing techniques. Working with different substrates, adhesives and grouts, you'll learn how materials and equipment are used in traditional mosaic practice using hammer and hardie as well as tile nippers. All materials are provided, and teaching takes place in our art studio. This course provides a strong foundation for progressing onto more advanced mosaic courses at WM College.
