This is a lively introduction to the Japanese language and culture, including a gentle introduction to hiragana - one basic component of the Japanese writing system - and simple vocabulary so you can introduce and speak about yourself. This course is suitable for complete beginners with no knowledge of the language. It is based on the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) syllabus. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners Japanese pt2 (A1).
