This online course explores British and American art and architecture from the 1960s to the present, a time of major social, political, and cultural change. Learner investigate how artists and architects responded to themes such as consumer culture, political instability, youth movements, and celebrity influence. Key movements studied include Pop Art, Minimalism, Conceptual Art, and the Young British Artists. The course also examines architectural styles such as Brutalism, Postmodernism, High-Tech, and Deconstructivism. Learners develop skills in visual analysis, critical thinking, and contextual research, gaining confidence in interpreting and discussing modern and contemporary practices. The whole course takes place on the Zoom.
