NEW CREATIVE SUPPORTED LEARNING COURSES 

Develop creative talents and improve your English, numeracy and communication skills in a friendly and fun environment!

These Supported Learning courses are aimed at learners with mild to moderate learning difficulties and or disabilities, aged 25 and over and an assessment interview may be required before enrolment.

LLDD Courses available at WMC-The Camden College

Creative English E3

This course has been developed for learners with very low English reading and writing skills and will enable learners to practise and develop their speaking and listening skills in a small supportive group. Using a variety of teaching and learning techniques including creative activities and use of ICT, learners will develop their skills and confidence and demonstrate their use of English in group activities, visuals displays, storytelling, and more.

Creative Computing for Beginners

Join these fun and informative computing lessons for beginners and be guided step by step to develop your computing skills. On this course you will learn how to use a computer/laptop; you will be taught how to use Microsoft Word, Photoshop, and PowerPoint. Learners will create and design their own products such as notebooks, calendars, T-shits, posters and logos.
This course has been developed to inspire and develop confidence in learners with LDD before moving on to other courses.

Creative Crafts

Develop your creativity by using a variety of materials and resources to produce handmade craft items including seasonal and special occasion, greeting cards, scrapbooks/memory books, gift boxes and more. You’ll learn paper crafting techniques including stamping, die cutting, embossing and foiling and explore culturally diverse arts and crafts in unique and productive lessons. Your original creations may even be included in college charity events!

This course has been developed to inspire and develop confidence in learners with LDD before moving on to other courses.

Creative ESOL

This course will give learners an opportunity to practise and develop their English speaking and listening, reading and writing skills. Learners will be able to improve their skills through creative activities including the creation of a recipe book, healthy eating and wellbeing projects, making a product such as a fashion item, and exploring the possibilities of community volunteering.

Creative Maths

Explore maths in fun and creative ways. Learners will develop confidence and improve skills with numbers, shapes, time and more in small groups with a creative feel. Learners will use practical activities and crafts in additional to workbooks and interactive websites to develop useful everyday numeracy skills.

In-Door Gardening with Air Dry Clay

By using a variety of materials and techniques, learners will use Air Dry clay to create handmade pots and plant holders to use with in-door plants that have special health and environmental benefits. Learners will use coiling, stamping, pinching and other techniques used in ceramics and explore culturally diverse pottery arts in unique and productive lessons.
How plants grow, make food and reproduce will also be explored including with those with specialist properties like Spider plants, Aloe Vera, African Corn Plant and Succulents, all available to re-pot and grow.

Supported Learning English
