Qualifications

Award in Digital Skills Level 1

This course will give you practical ICT skills in the effective use of digital technologies and the internet. You will learn how to create and publish your own web page. You will also quickly develop a good grasp of the use of the internet and awareness of online safety

Award in Digital Skills Level 2

Improve your practical ICT skills, your confidence in the use of digital technologies and your employability on this course. You will collaborate with others and work on projects to create and publish web pages.

Certificate in Digital Skills Level 1

This course will give you practical ICT skills in the effective use of digital technologies and the internet. You will gain hands-on experience in the use of office applications like web publishing, desktop publishing, presentations, word processing and spreadsheets.

Certificate in Digital Skills Level 2

This course will provide you with the understanding of the digital skills needed in the future jobs market across different sectors. You further develop your practical skills in the use of office applications like web publishing, desktop publishing, presentations, word processing and spreadsheets.

ICT Functional Skills Entry 1

If you have very little or no experience of using computers, then this course will give you a good introduction to the basics. You will learn how to create posters and leaflets and how to email using Outlook.

ICT Functional Skills Entry 2

If you have some experience of using computers, then this course will increase your knowledge, skills and confidence in a supportive environment. Focusing on Word, the Internet and email, this qualification will get you started with using computers in a variety of settings, such as on other courses, or at work, at home, or in many aspects of your life.

ICT Functional Skills Entry 3

If you are already finding your way with computers but want to develop further, then this is the course for you. We will help you to build your skills and learn new techniques in a supportive environment. This course will not only give you greater confidence in using computers, but also a qualification that is recognised in the workplace.

Mobile Application Development Enterprise Level 2

This course will provide you with the skills required to start developing mobile apps. You will not only learn how to create an app, but also how to assess the market for product suitability, how to market your app, how to distribute it, how to beta test and improve it.

Non-accredited courses

Microsoft Excel: Beginners

On this course you will learn the basics of using Excel spreadsheets to manipulate data. This course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience of Excel who want to develop their skills. You will become confident in using very simple but effective techniques and learn, through the examples used in class, the potential of using spreadsheets in your day-to-day life or work.

Microsoft Excel – Intermediate

This course is for those who have completed the ‘Introduction to Microsoft Excel course’ or have some experience of using spreadsheets and want to further develop their skills. You will extend your knowledge and experience of spreadsheets, working on more complex tasks with the help of your tutor. Improving your Excel skills will help you be more effective at work and in your day-to-day life.

Computer Skills for Beginners

Learn the basic digital skills needed for everyday life and become more confident with technology on this course. Suitable for absolute beginners or those who feel out of touch with the latest developments in technology, this course will teach you how to create simple documents, how to use the internet for shopping, emailing, searching for work, and how to be safe online.

Computer Skills for Improvers  NEW

Improve your basic digital skills on this course. You will work at your own pace and focus on the areas you wish to develop, supported by the tutor.

Google Ads and My Business for Self Employment

“Google is where people search for what to do, where to go, and what to buy”. This course is for small business entrepreneurs who want to learn how to use Google Ads and Google My Business to improve their online presence, make their products easier to find and sell, and give them more control of what shows in the search results when someone searches for their business name.

Cloud for Beginners

Take the first steps in learning about the power of using Cloud computing services, what the Cloud actually is and how you can benefit from its accessibility. You will be introduced to various Cloud applications that will give you a fun hands-on experience. Although the learning will primarily take place using PCs, the course will also include an introduction to accessing the Cloud on other smart devices.

Internet Browsing and Online Safety

The course will introduce effective ways to browse the internet, give you a basic introduction to the Cloud, take you through obstacles you may face and the solutions to being safe with your computer/laptop/mobile use. You will look at and discuss some of the security perils and what you need to do to avoid them.

iPads for Absolute Beginners

This course is an introduction designed to help you understand how to begin using an iPad device, how to control it and gradually move on to more intermediate features. The course is aimed towards absolute beginners (those who have very little or no experience using an iPad device), and those who have attended an iPad course before and wish to recap.
