French Conversation Cafe

Course Description

Spend some of your Saturday practising your French conversation skills. A native-speaking teacher will lead this friendly and supportive group session, helping you to develop your confidence, brush up your vocabulary and grammar, and improve your fluency. This session is aimed at students with skills at intermediate level or above.

Course Requirements

This session is aimed at students who already have the skills to hold simple conversations on everyday topics in the target language.

Course Content

This conversation course will expose you to authentic language through speaking, listening and reading activities with an emphasis on functional uses. Using current topics and real events, you will improve your speaking skills. The lessons also focus on pronunciation and good communication.

Teaching and Learning Methods

In this course you will be actively learning the language through a variety of interactive classroom activities, in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Assessment

There is no exam or formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will give you verbal feedback throughout the session and help you to correct errors in speaking, pronunciation and language use.

Next Steps and Progression

Practise and advance your language skills on a regular basis by enrolling for one of our weekly language courses at Intermediate level or above, including the Language and Culture courses.

Teachers are supported to ensure their materials are inclusive to meet all learners needs. Provision of assistive equipment is available and access support can be provided through reasonable adjustments, subject to an assessment by the ALS team and/or the Disability Officer. Digital Learning support is available in the Learning Centre at our Camden site. Careers advice and guidance is also available to all learners.
