This is a foundation yoga course suitable for those new to yoga and to those who want to deepen their practice. We will explore alignment and muscle engagement which is practised standing, using mats for floor work or a chair for support. The poses, or asanas, are suitable for everyone. Yoga enhances flexibility and body awareness, reduces stress and improves circulation. It can be practised by anyone wishing to enjoy the benefits of yoga who may (or may not) have restricted mobility.
If you have a medical condition or any health concerns, or haven't exercised for a long time, speak to your GP before you start this course. Prior knowledge or experience is not required. Loose, comfortable clothing (stretchy) is best.
You will learn various gentle yoga postures that includes stretching, twisting and leaning movements, simple flowing sequences, and yoga breathing techniques, meditation, and ways of relaxation.
Teaching and Learning Methods
Follow instructor led movements and practise them on your own and with other students with instructor feedback so you will be able to run-through them independently out of class. Practise at home or anywhere you feel comfortable between classes. Giving time to absorb and understand the essential principles of yoga will enable you to enjoy your practice, gain health benefits and progress steadily.

You will receive ongoing, regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive way. There is no qualification with this course.
