This course will teach you how to enhance your storytelling skills through a variety of editing techniques.You will learn how to integrate After Effects into your workflow with Premiere, and develop techniques such as adding transitions and voice-overs. After Effects will help you to add new skills to your video production, such as, defining compositions, compositing, and animating visual effects on video images. You will also have cloud access to Adobe software for the course duration.

Course Requirements
On this course you are expected to have a basic understanding of using computers. The course will be taught on Macs and part of the teaching will be to help you better understand and navigate MACOSX. Some video editing experience or experience with other related Adobe Creative Suite software would be an advantage but is not a course requirement. You will also need to complete an Individual Learning Plan.
Course Content
During this course you will be able to use video editing software to produce a short project, learn various editing tools to create video transitions, manipulate audio levels and employ sound and visual effects. The course will teach you to plan your Adobe Premiere projects and organise key assets and content. This will include integrating After Effects into your workflow and using it to enhance the visuals of your video production. You will learn how to work with projects and compositions and how transformations can be animated on video and text layers. You will also learn how to apply and animate a range of effects, use masks, keying and compositing. You will also learn how to use export settings and, back up and archive projects.
Teaching and Learning Methods
You will learn through, practical activities, group exercises and peer assessment, listening and analysis, demonstration and discussion, use of supporting online materials, individual practice, use of ILT and continuous assessment. There is no homework associated with the sessions but please do discuss extension activities with your tutor.
Assessment
You will be continually assessed through your practical activities and will receive feedback in a variety of ways such as peer assessment, verbal and written feedback from your teacher. This is a non-accredited course but a certificate of completion can be provided by the College on request.
Next Steps and Progression
Once you have completed the course, you may choose to enrol on a further course in video post-production such as Film and Video - Editing and Colour Grading. Advice and Guidance for all further study is available from the Curriculum Manager by request.
