Ableton Live is the choice of many music producers and DJs as it provides a level of interactivity for live performance not available in other packages. You can use it as a traditional sequencer or integrate Ableton into live DJ and music performances. The course will provide a solid foundation in using Ableton and will help you develop an understanding of the basics of music production.
You will need to have a confident level of ability in basic computer skills. You should also have some knowledge of music creation or performance as a DJ or instrumentalist / vocalist. However, a strong interest in music production and a desire to succeed will enable you to gain valuable skills from the course.
You will also be expected to complete an Individual Learning Plan to help support your progress.
The course will focus upon learning Ableton Live through an understanding of the basics of music production. You will be encouraged to develop your keyboard skills and engage with basic music theory.
Please note: although you will be introduced to all the above over a single term (10-weeks), the course is developmental over the whole year. If you sign up for the full three terms (courses A, B and C) at the start of the academic year e.g. August / September you will be entitled to the early bird discount.
