This course begins by looking at still life and hidden meanings from objects in paintings. Your tutor will demonstrate a range of drawing techniques and mark making to help you to create exciting and varied still life studies, depicting texture, tone and depth. This class is suitable for beginners, improvers and more experienced artists wanting to develop their observational drawing and painting skills.
The course is unaccredited; you do not need any qualifications to join but just a willingness to learn. You are welcome if you have little experience or have done some drawing and painting before but want to continue to develop your skills and continue to improve. The course is flexible and can take into account individual, as well as group needs.
The one-day course is an introduction for beginners to the basics of still life technique. For those with some previous experience, it will provide an opportunity to fully grasp the basics as well as have more time to explore a personal project. During this course you will: Draw using line and tone, Draw using measurement to understand structure, scale and proportion, Understand what palette of colours to choose for a particular painting, and Develop your own ideas to produce a personal project
