Student Profile: Andy Charalambous
FdA Art and Design Professional Practice (Fine Art pathway)
Before coming to the College, I had a career as an engineer. I came to enquire about ceramics courses and ended up doing the Access to Art & Design course (now Foundation in Art & Design). I enjoyed studying art so much I didn’t want to stop so I enrolled on the FdA Art and Design Professional Practice.
The tutors on the course gave us so much of their time and support. In my year, the group of students worked very well a team and there was a lot of solidarity amongst students. I love the ‘crits’ which are meetings in which we discussed and critiqued our work. The projects were interesting and challenging.
I will carry on with the arts. I secured a voluntary job at University College London as an Artist in Residence for Science Group which I hope will open more doors in the future.
