Daytime & Evening French courses at WMC-The Camden College

Beginners French pt1 (A1)
This is a lively introduction to the French language and culture, including a gentle introduction to reading and writing at a basic level, and simple grammar and vocabulary so you can introduce and speak about yourself. This course is suitable for complete beginners with no knowledge of the language. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners French pt2 (A1).

Beginners French pt2 (A1)
This course continues to introduce the French language and culture. You will further develop your vocabulary to hold simple conversations, asking and answering questions on a range of topics. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Beginners French pt3 (A1).

Beginners French pt3 (A1)
This course continues to introduce the French language and culture. You will expand your vocabulary to hold more in-depth conversations, including use and understanding of past and future tense. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Elementary French pt1 (A2).

Elementary French pt 3 (A2)
This lively communicative course is designed to develop your speaking skills by promoting discussions on several issues, for example health and well-being. You will also consolidate your grammar, with the introduction of the subjunctive and complex sentences. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Intermediate French pt1 (B1).

Elementary French pt1 (A2)
A class for improvers in the French language. Using previous knowledge, you will work on basic sentence structures and develop fluency and vocabulary. You will become more confident in using present, past and future tenses. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Elementary French pt2 (A2).

Elementary French pt2 (A2)
This lively communicative course builds on previous vocabulary and grammar to enable you to deal with more practical topics verbally and in writing, including shopping for food, ordering a meal and giving opinions. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Elementary French pt3 (A2).

Intermediate French pt 1 (B1)
This lively communicative course is designed to develop your speaking skills by promoting discussions on several topics, for example cinema and attitudes to money. You will also consolidate your grammar, with an emphasis on using the correct pronouns.

Intermediate French pt 2 (B1)
On this lively communicative course, you will develop you speaking and listening skills by discussing topics such as food, hobbies and healthy living. You will also consolidate your grammar, with the use of the conditional and subjunctive moods.

Intermediate French pt 3 (B1)
On this course will practice your verbal and listening skills to develop your confidence to speak French in a range of situations, such as shopping at the market or in a pharmacy. You will also consolidate your grammar, with an emphasis on using the correct past tense to describe events in the past.

Upper Intermediate French pt1 (B1/2)
Improve your intermediate French on this lively communicative course. You will practice your verbal and listening skills in a range of situations, developing pronunciation and fluency. In particular, you will explore and discuss French culture and current affairs. On completion of this course, you can progress onto Upper Intermediate French pt2 (B1/2).

Upper Intermediate French pt2 (B1/2)
Continue improving your intermediate French on this lively communicative course. You will further develop your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, especially in the use of pronouns and expressions of permission, prohibition, and obligation. You will explore and discuss ‘la France d’outre-mer’ (French overseas territories).
On completion of this course, you can progress onto Upper Intermediate French pt3 (B1/2).

Upper Intermediate French pt3 (B1/2)
This lively communicative course will further consolidate your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and will help you build the confidence to speak in French in a range of situations. You will refine your grammar, especially in the use of the subjunctive.

French for Holidays (1 day intensive)
Planning for a holiday to a French speaking country? This course will teach you some simple phrases and vocabulary, so you can communicate in a variety of everyday situations while you are away.

    • HI we don’t have the beginners pt 1 running for term 3 only pt 3. The beginners will start in September again. Thanks
