A passion for Ceramic Sculpture
Rosh says it is never too late to find a new passion in life. In a short dramatic period whilst studying at Working Men's College, Rosh found herself moving away from making simple domestic pots with stencil or henna decorations, to creating complex, and prize-winning, ceramic sculptures.
Prize-winning sculpture by Rosh Keegan
With every sculpture Rosh has dared to push boundaries a little bit more and the results have been amazing as can be seen in her Nijinsky Le Bleu Dieu piece. In November 2010 , nominated by her fellow students, she was a runner up Student of the Year at WMC. In July 2011 Rosh won the "Theatre Collection" prize in the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum competition for Adult Learners with her "Amazing Fire Bird" .
Inspiration from WMC students and her WMC tutor
Rosh's creative leap was the result of inspiration from her fellow WMC students and from her tutor Joanna Voit who steadily encouraged Rosh to set herself greater challenges and who gave her many of the ceramic techniques needed to support her vision. Rosh's very first sculpture, was undertaken with trepidation but with helpful hints and timely advice from those fellow students and there was such delight when the figure of a sitting rabbit finally came to light. Now Rosh is giving the advice to her fellow students! And there have been such creatures created since then as can be seen on her own website www.roshkeegan.com.
