Kirti Patel, former engineer and business manager, is also on the Access to Art and Design course.
He became disillusioned with business life and took the opportunity of being made redundant (fate, he calls it) to pursue his passion for art full time.
“I’ve always done evening classes and now I am doing my first proper qualification spending time making art. The course has given me confidence and the staff gives you such an insight into the art world.”
As he speaks, Kirti works with a glue gun piecing together dozens of lenses from old pairs of spectacles to make the wings of a giant insect.
