The WMC has provided for the needs of adult learners for over 160 years.  We are recruiting a number of governors to join the Board as some of our current long-serving governors are stepping down.  We are looking for governors who bring a whole-hearted commitment to adult learning and to the values of the College, and who also have one or more of the following:

  • knowledge of the local area;
  • a minority ethnic background;
  • experience of the world of adult education;
  • HR expertise;
  • experience in the voluntary sector/local government;
  • business development or fundraising experience.

In particular in this round we would like to recruit someone with the capacity and readiness to assume the role of chair within a year as the current chair will be stepping down.

Curriculum Manager – Hair and Beauty (0.6fte)

Salary £32,463 – £36,524 per annum pro rata

Including generous holiday entitlement and Teachers’ Pension Scheme


WMC – the Camden College, is the oldest surviving adult education institute in Europe and was founded in 1854. Our mission is to provide diverse, enriching and enjoyable lifelong learning, including skills for work, in a supportive environment for adults in Camden and the local area


We are seeking a proactive Curriculum Manager to develop and enhance our hair and beauty curriculum and increase learner numbers within our purpose built training salon; Studio101 at WMC – The Camden College


You will have a combination of subject specialist knowledge and experience of developing and managing a range of accredited and non-accredited hair and beauty courses and you should hold an Assessor qualification and be a qualified IQA although we will consider applications with relevant experience.


You will have a track record of successful leadership and improvement of curriculum areas that attract diverse income streams and will know how to manage, deliver and evaluate excellent learning experiences
