All our Supported Learning courses are available for adults aged 25 on 31 August 2017 and over only.

These Supported Learning courses are aimed at learners with mild to moderate learning difficulties and or disabilities, aged 25 and over and an assessment interview may be required before enrolment.

Creative Computing for Beginners  

Join these fun and informative computing courses for beginners and be guided step by step to use PowerPoint techniques to present your projects to family & friends or simply to store your memories and ideas. You will learn about safe and effective web searching for pictures, videos and information to create slide shows and how to transfer pictures taken with smart phones. We’ll also explore well-being and confidence through making PowerPoint slideshows to share with others.

Creative Crafts

Develop your creativity by using different materials and resources to produce handmade items including greeting cards, scrapbook pages and gift boxes. You’ll learn paper crafting techniques like stamping, die cutting, embossing and foiling and explore culturally diverse arts and crafts in unique and productive lessons. Your original creations may even be included in college wide charity events!

Introduction to Indoor Gardening  

Indoor gardening with ceramics – Experiment with air dry clay to make pots to use with house plants and learn about the health benefits of ceramics and indoor gardening.  This is a holistic course that aims to introduce learners to indoor plant care and ceramics and also develop individual personal and life skills needed for employment.

Creative Maths for Everyday Use

Explore maths in fun and creative ways to develop confidence with numbers, shapes, time and more!  From the moment we wake we use maths throughout our day and on this supported learning course, designed to be interactive and creative and fun, tutors will bring maths to life to demonstrate that it is not frightening!  Learners will use crafts and practical activities to develop useful everyday numeracy skills and much more!
