Digital and Creative Skills using Google (Beginner)

Join this course as a stepping stone to more complex software courses like Photoshop and InDesign. Most people see Google only as an internet search tool or email client but Google within its own “ecosystem” has lots of other services and features to offer. Once registered with Gmail, Google’s email client, users can use a myriad of other services.
By using a unified Google login, you can automatically have access to all Google services like Google Drive, Google Chrome OS, Google Apps, YouTube, Blogger, Google Android etc.
By using Google Drive (cloud based document creation and file storing system) you will never lose your important files again and you can have access and share them from any device.

Design with Adobe CC (Beginner/Intermediate)

You will learn basic skills in how to use the powerful Adobe CC software suite which includes programmes such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, in order to enhance your design
projects. On this course you will set your own learning goals and develop projects supported by a subject specialist tutor.

You will work on a range of projects such as: designing a logo, a newsletter, a poster or a multiple page, professional CV, business cards, or letterhead using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or
InDesign.

Illustrator (Beginner/Intermediate)

On this course you will learn basic skills on how to use the powerful Adobe Illustrator CC software. Adobe Illustrator is a program used by both artists and graphic designers to create vector images. These images will then be used for company logos, promotional uses or even personal work, both in print and digital form. Adobe illustrator is typically used to create illustrations, charts, graphs, logos, diagrams, cartoons of real photographs, and more. While the program may be difficult to understand initially, the final product will be well worth the learning curve.

Photoshop for Beginners  

On this beginner’s course you will learn how to use Photoshop to enhance, modify and prepare your images for print or web. You will learn how to use image adjustments, selection tools, retouching tools and layers.

Photoshop Intensive (Intermediate/Advanced)  

On this next step course you will improve and add to your existing Photoshop skills. Learn to use some of the creative features of Photoshop to create multi-layered collages, original artwork and graphics using your own photos, drawings and found images. You will be able to work on a personal or set project.

Web Design and Blogging with WordPress (Beginner/Intermediate)

You will be using WordPress as a tool to build a website and specifically create blogging content. WordPress is used to run around 30% of world’s websites (simple and complex websites, e-shops,
CMSs) so learning how to use wordpress.com will be beneficial to anyone who would like to design their own websites or create blogs. Blogging allows you to update your content in a responsive and immediate way.

Web Design with Adobe Muse (Beginner/Intermediate)

Adobe Muse is a newcomer within the Adobe CC applications and is a brilliant tool for those who want to build bespoke websites without having to delve into coding.

It is especially useful for those who are familiar with the other major Adobe CC programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. It allows complete freeform control, so you can think visually and easily express creative ideas giving you the tools you need to break free from the mould of common responsive layouts. Your websites will look and behave as intended on all popular browsers and devices.

Introduction to WordPress (Mixed Level)

You will be using wordpress.com free service, as a tool to build a website and create blogging content.  Wordpress is used to run around 30% of world’s websites (simple and complex ones, e-shops, CMS-s etc.) so learning how to use wordpress.com will be beneficial to those wanting to start learning to design websites and create blogging content.

Drawing Using Illustrator (Mixed Level)

If you’ve ever wanted to make a quick digital drawing in Illustrator but had no idea where to begin, this one day course is for you! You’ll learn how to set up your workspace in Illustrator, how to use the pen tool to draw and how to harness the power of keyboard shortcuts.

All of this will be done on an iMac, in Adobe Illustrator CC 2015.  Adobe Illustrator is a program used by both artists and graphic designers to create vector images. These images will then be used for company logos, promotional use or even personal work, both in print and digital form. Illustrator is typically used to create illustrations, charts, graphs, logos, diagrams, cartoons of real photographs and more.

Introduction to InDesign (Mixed Level)

This course is intended for people with no previous experience of InDesign or those who have used the product but require the official training on how to use the basics of the application in the best way. Ideally suited for people wanting to edit existing InDesign documents or those wishing to create very simple newsletters or flyers.

You will familiarise with the basics of print design and layout, using Adobe InDesign as the professional’s choice. You will learn the basics of working with text, images and building documents in a correct and optimised way. In this, one of our signature courses, you will work with some of the tools and features to create eye-catching printed documents using Adobe InDesign.
